Effective date: October 12, 2026

Amber Meadow Studio collects only the information needed to send you free downloads and, if you choose, our newsletter. We never sell your personal information.

Who we are and what this policy covers

Amber Meadow Studio is a creative studio owned and operated by Shirley Boudinot in El Dorado Hills, California. We create children's books, printable activities, artwork, and other creative products.

This policy covers ambermeadowstudio.com, our landing pages (including Axle's Adventure Library), our email list, and the free digital downloads we deliver by email. By using these, you agree to the practices described here.

Your newsletter choiceWhen you tick (or leave unticked) the optional newsletter box
Email confirmation and activity (opens, clicks, unsubscribes)When you confirm your signup and receive our emails
Technical data (IP address, browser, device type, signup date and time)Automatically, when you visit our pages or submit a form
Cookies and similar technologiesWhen you visit our website or landing pages

We do not ask for payment details, home addresses, phone numbers, or information about your children on our signup forms.

How we use your information

We use your information to deliver what you asked for and to run our studio responsibly.

  • To deliver your free downloads. Your email address is used to send the download links you requested. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
  • To send our newsletter, only if you opt in. We send newsletters and promotional emails only to people who ticked the newsletter box or otherwise gave consent.
  • To confirm your signup. We may send a one-time email asking you to confirm your address, which protects you from someone signing you up without permission.
  • To understand and improve our pages and emails. We look at overall statistics, such as how many people opened an email or clicked a link.
  • To keep our forms secure. We use spam protection (such as reCAPTCHA) to block automated signups.
  • To meet legal obligations. We keep records of consent and unsubscribes as required by law.

Email, consent, and unsubscribing

You can get our free books without joining our newsletter. The newsletter box on our signup forms is optional and unticked by default.

If you request free downloads only, we send the email containing your download links and any related delivery or confirmation messages. If you also tick the newsletter box, we may send occasional updates about new books, printable activities, artwork, and special offers.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe by contacting us (see Contact us below). Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending you marketing emails, though we keep a record of your request so we don't email you again by mistake.

Service providers and third-party links

We share your information only with trusted service providers that help us run our studio, and only as needed to provide their service. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

When you download a file from Google Drive, Google may collect information under its own privacy policy. If you are signed in to a Google account, Google handles that session, not us.

Our pages and emails may link to other sites, such as Amazon (where our paperback books are sold), Etsy, Shopify, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Purchases and activity on those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

Children's privacy

Our books and activities are made for children, but our website, forms, and emails are intended for parents, grandparents, teachers, and other adults.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

How long we keep information, and how we protect it

We keep your information while you remain on our list and for a reasonable time afterward to honor unsubscribe requests and meet legal obligations. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

We use reputable providers with industry-standard security, and we limit access to our subscriber list. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving emails, at any time. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

  • Everyone: unsubscribe from any email using its unsubscribe link, or contact us to access, correct, or delete your information.
  • California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access, correction, or deletion, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
  • Visitors from the EU, UK, and similar regions: you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may complain to your local data protection authority. Your information may be processed in the United States, where our providers are located.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page or sent to subscribers by email.
